What we do

Three kinds of work, one paint booth.

Most shops pick one of these. We do all three, and the same two owners have their hands on every job.

Collision & insurance

Somebody hit you, or you hit something. We straighten it, replace what can't be saved, and match the paint so the repair disappears. We do insurance work every day and we'll deal with your adjuster for you.

  • Insurance claims — all carriers welcome
  • Frame and structural repair
  • Panel replacement and dent pulling
  • Auto glass repair and replacement
  • Wheel alignment
  • Towing

Restoration & custom paint

Classic cars and trucks, muscle cars and one-off colors. Stripped, straightened, sprayed and cut back until the reflection runs straight down the panel.

  • Classic car and truck restoration
  • Complete repaints
  • Two-tone and factory-correct schemes
  • Custom colors and graphics
  • Rust and metal repair
  • Color matching and touch-up

RV, coach & boat

The big stuff most body shops turn away. Motorhomes, toterhomes, trailers and boats — full repaints and multi-color graphics, in a booth built to take them.

  • RV and motorhome painting
  • Coach and toterhome refinishing
  • Boat painting
  • Multi-color graphics and stripes
  • Motorcycle repair
A lifted Ford Super Duty crew cab inside the spray booth at Larry's Paint & Body Shop

The booth

Big enough that the motorhomes come here.

We spray in a Blowtherm booth. Air comes in filtered through the full length of the ceiling and gets pulled out past the vehicle, so dust and overspray move away from the panel instead of settling into your clear. It takes a lifted crew cab with room to walk all the way around it — which is why the coaches and the boats end up here and not in somebody's two-car bay.

Start to finish

A 1969 Buick GS. This is what we do.

Same car, same shop, photographed twenty months apart. Nothing on this site is a stock photo — every vehicle here was painted at 1230 W. Market Street.

Came in torn down. Bumper off, wheels off, panels in primer with the filler worked and guide-coated.
After Finished 1969 Buick GS 400 convertible in olive green with a white interior, back on the road
She's rolling. Straight panels, deep olive, top down and back with her owner.

In the booth

Color goes on one coat at a time.

A two-tone is not one job, it's two — mask, spray, cure, unmask, mask again. It is slow and there is no way to fake it. That is what you are paying a body shop for.

Why bring it here

Four reasons, and none of them are marketing.

Body shops all say the same things. These are the ones we can actually stand behind.

Lifetime warranty on paint and parts The paint and the parts that go on your vehicle carry the manufacturer's lifetime warranty. That only means something if the shop is buying materials that come with one — plenty aren't. It's on the sign out front for a reason.
85 years of experience between two owners Larry Roberts and Ray Upham started this shop in 1998. They are still the ones doing and checking the work — you are not handing your car to a stranger.
A+ rated, BBB Accredited since 2015 Eleven years accredited with the Better Business Bureau at an A+ rating. You can look it up before you call us.
We handle the insurance company Bring us the claim and we'll take it from there. Free estimate, we deal with your adjuster, and we'll tell you straight if a claim isn't worth filing.

About the shop

Two owners, one shop, since 1998.

Larry Roberts and Ray Upham opened Larry's Paint & Body on West Market Street in 1998 and have run it together ever since — 85 years of paint and body work between them. It is a full-service shop: collision and frame work on a Tuesday, a classic going into the booth on a Wednesday, a motorcoach on a Thursday. Same building, same hands, whatever rolls in.

We serve Rockport, Fulton, Aransas Pass, Ingleside, Portland and the rest of the Coastal Bend. Estimates are free, we work with every insurance company, and the paint and parts we use carry a lifetime manufacturer warranty.
